With a job calling Emilie back to France, and still half the country to see, it was time to leave Broome, where we spent a little over a month. Kevin, a Brestois we met in Broome and made friends with, has joined the Em'mobile and will be with us until Darwin. And as an Aussie once told him, "you haven't seen Australia if you haven't seen the Kimberley". So we've put our 4WD to good use and took the shorter but wilder way towards the North: the Gibb River Rd, 700 km of dirt road open during the Dry only (May to Oct., as opposed to the Wet, Nov. to April).

A great adventure through bushland, secluded gorges and flowing creeks, complete with a triple puncture of both rear tyres. But pictures will speak more than words, so we'll leave it there!

Avec un boulot rappelant Emilie en France, et encore une moitié du pays à découvrir, il était temps de quitter Broome, où nous aurons passé un peu plus d'un mois. Kevin, un Brestois rencontré à Broome et avec qui nous avons bien accroché, a rejoint la Em'mobile, et sera avec nous jusqu'à Darwin. Et comme un australien lui a dit un jour, "tu n'as pas vu l'Australie si tu n'as pas vu le Kimberley". Alors on a remis notre brave 4x4 au travail et pris la route de la Gibb River, plus courte mais beaucoup plus sauvage, 700 km de piste de terre qui n'est ouverte que pendant le Dry (saison sèche, mai à oct., par opposition à la Wet, saison humide, de nov. à avril). Une superbe aventure à travers le bush et les torrents, ponctuée de gorges reculées et complétée par une triple crevaison des deux pneus arrière. Mais les images parleront plus que des mots, alors on vous laisse apprécier!
